Confidently explore and learn

Conveniently located in the heart of Spreydon on Lyttelton Street since 1990, our preschool is known for its strong connections with the community. We have 16 children in the nursery and 25 in the preschool. At approximately 3.5 years, the children transition to our Cobham Street site, which is right next door.

We have a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families and aim to provide a place where children can confidently explore and learn.

Our friendly and experienced team of teachers provide a safe and secure, well-resourced environment for children to confidently explore and learn. Our nursery has a covered verandah with a sandpit for year-round access and a full age - appropriate curriculum is available every day. We foster respect for our environment and the children are involved in planting and harvesting vegetable gardens.

A sense of belonging is a priority for our learners and our low child-to-adult ratios ensure plenty of calm and unhurried time for strong, respectful relationships to establish and grow.

A number of our teachers are fluent in NZ Sign Language and Te ao Māori and meaningful use of te reo me ngā tikanga Māori are integrated into the programme.
